Baby plaque

I used my neice's newborn foot prints to make a sample of the new product I mentioned a bit ago.
I figured it's easier to get an idea what I'm talking about if you can see it. :)

I also had another idea. The plaques I use can be purchased at Walmart, or Michael's.
The person who wants to order a plaque can purchase one of the blanks, then trace their child's hand print, or the whole family if they like. Then mail it to me, I can burn it and add wording, or graphics.
What do you think of that idea??

Starting on my first cat portrait.

I had neat idea for a new product.

You know how when a baby is born the hospital fills out a form with the baby's foot prints on it?

Well, I was thinking that I could make plaques commemorating the birth of a baby by wood burning the foot prints, and all the birth info on to a 5 x 7 plaque. The border could then be painted blue or pink.

What do you think?

Tillie Plaque is done

I've been slacking in posting on this blog lately. For that I apologize. I've recently had some new developments in my life, and it's been a little distracting. ;) I'm not ready to divulge much more than that, but I will soon. Till then, I hope everyone is well!

Tillie is almost done!

I'm actually working on paint today. I painted in the eyes and teeth. Just makes it pop a little more. I am also painting the border of it. Tomorrow will come clear coat. 

Layout change

Since I've done paws in the corners before and I like to keep each one unique, I opted for a row of paws at the bottom.
I like it. :) I have an inyerview this morning... I may end up working for the day to see how it goes. Then I'll get to working on Tillie's portrait. :)

Here's the new one I'm working on today. This cute pup is Tillie.

Shipping charges...

Unfortunately I'm going to have to start charging more for shipping.
I just came back from the post office after shipping 4 plaques.
They were all being shipped within the USA, and all were over $7.00.
Add into that the cost of the padded envelopes, that brings my shipping costs up to over $9.00.

I've been charging between $5-6. With money being tight I'm making it hard on myself to get them shipped out.

I hate to do it, but I have to raise the cost. :(

Stained with maple stain, gold wash over the lacing with  dark green borders.
